As discussed, symptomatic students and faculty should be instructed to report to the local CHD (located at 115 K.D. Revell Road, Wauchula).  A nasal antigen swab will be collected and within 15 minutes a result will be available (minor testing requires signed parental consent).

  1. If the antigen test is positive, the student or faculty member will be excluded and contract tracing will begin to identify those exposed.

  1. If the antigen test is negative, a PCR nasal swab (the gold standard test), will be collected and the student or faculty member will be instructed to remain home until the result is known (usually within 2-3 days).  If the result is positive, the student or faculty member will continue to be excluded and contact tracing will begin to identify exposures.  If the result is negative, then once the symptoms resolve, the student or faculty member may return to school.

***If the parent of a symptomatic student does not have transportation to the CHD, we will dispatch a COVID tester to the school site to collect the swab (ideally in an open aired location as the student or faculty member will need to remove their mask).***

The CHD antigen testing is available during school hours 8:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday.  An appointment is NOT required (however we would very much appreciate a quick call to alert us).
